PrintJust how much can we benefit from eating an apple a day? according to a recent study, very! The old English adage first appeared in the February 1866 publication of “Notes and Queries”. Scientifically speaking, apples do have many benefits. For an 80 calorie medium apple, you get lots of nutrients in exchange for a healthy snack. Apples contain boron, which strengths bones and the brain. Vitamin A, C, and E are also present. Phytonutrients like beta carotene reduce the risk of heart disease, diabetes, and asthma.
